One of the features of UpdateBIM is that it groups parameters by Catalog, encouraging a rational use by administrator users and avoiding duplicates. This helps prevent common situations, such as using “width” or “breadth” to define the same thing.
For this reason, a parameter identified as a type parameter in one family may be identified as an instance parameter in another.
Not all parameters are editable. Below is a list of which parameters can be modified through the web interface:
- Shared parameters, including those marked as read-only.
- Non-shared parameters that are marked as user-editable.
Additionally, parameters associated as Instance in the type we are attempting to modify will not be editable.
We recommend using a shared parameters file, where the nomenclature of the different parameters follows a classification that can be documented according to the ISO 19650 standard.
