There are various ways to insert a family into a Revit project using UpdateBIM. Below are some of the available options:
Selection by Folders: We can select the desired family and type by navigating through the folder classification. This method is useful when we know the specific element we are looking for and are familiar with the folder structure in which the families are organized. For example, in the Autodesk public catalog, the folder classification follows this structure:
By clicking on the type name, the family will be loaded into Revit, ready for insertion using the corresponding function, depending on the object type. For example, if it’s a system family, such as a wall, UpdateBIM will prompt you to select the starting point of the wall. If it’s an insertable family, like a machine, the program will ask you to specify the exact location where you want to place the object.
